The UGC Regulations (2023) provide that an autonomous college run by a Trust, or Society shall constitute its Governing Body as follows :

4	1 Member	Educationist or Industrialist	Nominated by the management
5	1 Member	State Government nominee	Academician not below the rank of professor or State Government official of Directorate of Higher Education or State Council of Higher Education
6	1 Member	University Nominee	Nominated by the University
7	1 Member	Principal of College	Member Secretary
